A family vacation turned into a fight for survival after a young boy encountered a terrifying danger along a popular island beach.
Beau Brattain, 9, was collecting sand near Bimini Cove in the Bahamas on Tuesday, July 28, when six dogs escaped and attacked him, according to police.
The animals, all Staffordshire Bull Terriers, bit Beau, a Florida resident, 100 times across his head, face, arms, and legs, according to The Nassau Guardian. He also suffered a severe scalp injury that left tissue and nerves exposed, NBC6 South Florida reported.

A Massachusetts couple who were shot twice in the chest last month while vacationing in New Hampshire is making remarkable progress as he continues to recover, according to police.
Chase Perault, 23, of Tewksbury, and his girlfriend, Maddy Jarvin, of Amesbury, were at Hampton Beach over the July Fourth weekend. Police say Tyshawn Cooper, 21, a member of the U.S. Navy, pulled the trigger before turning the gun on himself.
